Vehicle Data System
STW’s TC3G telematics and connectivity module has been best-in-class since its release in 2014. Now, with the newest release of its Vehicle Data System software and services – VDS Remote – STW offers a complete best-of-breed solution for local and remote connectivity, diagnostics and analytics.
VDS offers every possible scenario for connectivity – local, remote, wifi, GSM and wired – with full functionality available in all modes for every type of intelligent client device (PCs, tablets, smart phones). The unique and powerful web-based configurability of VDS allows access to CAN, J1939, CANOpen and ModbusIP data with supreme ease. Diagnostics projects with a wide array of gauges, meters, LEDs and charts can be created with a simple drag and drop user interface. And 3rd party servers can receive data and alarms through a simple web service.
All of the VDS-Remote functionality has been built on the most advanced web architecture available – the same architecture that Google and other top flight technology companies use. This provides a foundation that will scale easily and adapt to the rapidly evolving world of connectivity, Internet of Things and vehicle analytics.

- Full administration of groups, companies, users, roles and devices
- Full configurability of every user function by the definition of roles
- Google maps for asset tracking
- Full configuration and Management of all data readers by local or remote users
- New diagnostic gauge package
- Connection to 3rd party servers for data transfer and alarms
- Configurable log and theme colors
- Flashing a controller with a new application program, controller enhancements or bug fixes
- Remote access to most recent log files without being connected to the telematics device
Diagnostics ‘projects’ are simple to create and configure and provide unlimited views of real-time data with a wide variety of visualization graphics
Asset location is displayed along with basic information about the machine on Google maps. Devices can be accessed via the map or from a list.
Data readers are used to access data on the vehicle’s CAN bus. Configuring them is easy and fast, but with full flexibility.
Logs can be generated for any number of variables and with a wide variety of parameters. On change and event-triggered logs allow memory and bandwidth resources to be conserved.

Logs, configuration files, logos and software updates can all be uploaded or downloaded through the Device Files page.
Administration of VDS-R is incredibly flexible and allows the definition of groups, companies, users, roles, devices and settings.
Users are assigned a role and may belong to multiple groups and devices.
Roles determine what functions a user may perform on a very granular level.
