STW Technic Gives Back Through Habitat For Humanity Workday

PRlog, September 19, 2012 – Norcross, Ga – Employees at STW Technic, a Norcross, Georgia, based premier manufacturer of mobile controllers and measurement technology, continued to give back to their local community through a Habitat for Humanity Workday and contribution benefiting Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity.

STW Technic employees worked on a variety of tasks – painting preparation and painting, installing decking, framing out a back porch, hanging doors – under the patient supervision of Habitat for Humanity’s construction supervisors.  The day went by quickly as the manual labor was quite exotic and refreshing to people who generally work in an office in front of a computer all day.

The event supports STW Technic’s values of supporting the local communities they operate in while helping team building within the organization. Bob Geiger, President of STW Technic, said, “STW Technic’s parent company in Germany, STW, has a long history of public service and giving back to the community, so it is only natural that we continue that tradition here in the U.S.  Habitat for Humanity is a great choice because it allows us to donate not only money but also our time and labor, which gives us a stronger sense of involvement and serves as a team building exercise as well.”

Lynn Weekley, Volunteer Coordinator, Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity, added, “Contributions from midsized companies like STW not only benefit Habitat for Humanity by helping us continue our mission to provide basic, affordable housing for working families; but they also help build the community by strengthening neighborhoods.”
