By Andres Rojas

Please welcome the release of VDS 1.5.2, it brings a set of bug fixes and system improvements that you would not want to miss.

BUG FIXES

  • Issue when dynamically switching from Access Point to Client connection in WIFI
  • Button layout in logger needed to be polished after latest changes.
  • Validation for max value on proprietary PGN variable creation section was not required, causing CAN data corruption.
  • Issue where “Add SPN” button was disabled when editing proprietary PGNs
  • Compression process for large files was improved to avoid transfer interruption due to http-request timeout during log file compression.
  • Issue with Log job ON/OFF button not working properly
  • Issue with importing DBC files with spaces in the file name.

FEATURES & ENHANCEMENTS

DBC PARSER DOES MULTIPLEXING

We added support for multiplexed variables inside DBC files. Our CAN reader is now able to import files and correctly process multiplexed variables.

BETTER DATA RESOLUTION WITH NEW STORAGE TYPE PROPERTY

The CAN reader now automatically calculates the correct datapool variable-type based on other variable configuration properties such as scaling, offset, and length in order to ensure proper data resolution.

storage-type

Simply configure your CAN variable’s properties (scaling, offset, length) as usual and the system will automatically take care of assigning the correct storage type.

J1939 READER LAYOUT REDESIGN

We changed the layout of the J1939 for ease of navigation and better information flow. When searching for a variable, both the PGN and SPN information is displayed below the search bar.

FASTER CAN BUS MONITORING

We have improved the performance of the VDS system when checking CAN messages in the bus and matching them with the variable list in the VDS Configuration.

The CAN reader is smarter in the way it searches for variables in the CAN bus, thus allowing us to greatly decrease the load on the TC3G and reducing the time it takes to process all CAN data from the bus into the datapool.
